The San Diego-based quartet is comprised of former blink-182 guitarist/vocalist Tom DeLonge, former Offspring drummer Atom Willard, one-time Distillers bassist Ryan Sinn and guitarist David Kennedy, a colleague from DeLonge's other project Box Car Racer. But Angels & Airwaves ("AVA" for short) is no side project like Box Car Racer, nor a thinly-disguised solo vehicle. AVA's full-length debut is a collaborative effort, with DeLonge helming the production at his studio, Never Pants Ranch. The result is No Need to Whisper, a dynamic disc that spans the musical spectrum, powered by atmospheric beats, trim guitars and DeLonge's tempestuous take on life. No Need to Whisper is slated for release on Geffen Records in May 2006.
