Hailing from Redding, California, Ashley Parker was thrust into the spotlight when he was chosen to be a member of the pre-fab boy band O-Town for the ABC reality TV show Making The Band. The show documented the creation of O-Town and the progression of their careers; the group would end-up signing to Clive Davis's J Records and releasing two albums before disbanding in 2003. Since the end of O-Town Ashley Parker Angel has returned to his roots as a credible musician, writing rock-inspired songs with pop inflections and incorporating more live instruments. The son of a piano teacher, and a jazz musician, Angel has been playing piano since before he could walk and writing songs since the age of 10. MTV newest reality series"There and Back" follows Angel as he attempts return to the spotlight on his own terms. After hooking up the production team of Soul Shock & Karlin (Whitney Houston, Monica, Toni Braxton) Angel has been working on his solo debut and has landed a deal with Blackground Entertainment, the company responsible for acts like Aaliyah, Timbaland and Ginuwine. His as-yet-untitled debut will be released in 2006.
